This is an opportunity for a Spanish speaking medic with EMT minimum certification to deploy immediately overseas. Countries you may work in are Mexico, PR, Peru, Argentina, Columbia, etc. You will be offered periodic short-notice deployments to North, Central, and South America, as well as, Spanish speaking areas of the Caribbean.
We have an immediate need for a Director of Fundraising who will oversee and manage all fundraising activities and campaigns as we raise money for mission projects.
What You Need for this Position
- Master’s degree preferred
- 7 years of progressive development related experience for a non-profit, association or foundation. Disaster Response industry is highly desirable
- Certified Fund Raising Executive designation (CFRE) and/or Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy (CAP) preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse population
- Strong financial acumen, proficient in nonprofit fiscal management, including fund accounting and budgeting
- Skilled use of fundraising software (e.g. Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge platform)
- Successful track record managing and implementing projects and processes
- Able to build relationships and collaborate within and between complex individuals and organizations
What You Will Be Doing
- Develop, oversee, and execute all campaign activities involved in fundraising for mission critical projects including advancement of philanthropy and community engagement
- Manage portfolio of key prospects and donors
- Continuously develop, inform, involve and collaborate with Board members toward achieving our shared purpose in philanthropic activities
- Provide leadership and vision for the overall operation of BOTG and its team members
- Plan, organize, and program implementation to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, communication with internal and external agencies and customers, development of tools, techniques and methods for the fundraising function, budget planning and oversight, and coordination of effective internal processes to effectively execute plans
- Active participation and foundation representation in community groups, meetings and forums to support the mission, vision and need

Summary:
This job is responsible for writing Grant proposals for BOTG humanitarian missions and coordinating Grant proposals and applications written by team members. This job also requires researching new opportunities, formulating plans for fund raising for BOTG to execute projects in line with it’s core missions.
This job requires grant research, grant writing and grant management.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Excellent persuasive writing skills. Proficient in computers and budgeting.
- Develop and strengthen organizational infrastructure through evaluation of fundraising strategies, communication messaging and understanding of “giving” history.
- Develop and maintain a portfolio of major gifts prospects, donors and charitable foundations.
- Effectively communicate BOTG’s mission to appropriate organizations.
- Implement grant writing program including researching new opportunities, establishing relationship with donors, preparing grant applications, submitting within timelines and completing all follow up materials, as needed.
- Manage master grant calendar for all grant applicants, generate success factors.
- Establish annual fund raising targets , track and generate progress report.
- Identify, cultivate and successfully solicit corporate, foundation, and individual funding sources based on donor cultivation best practices.
- Effectively represent BOTG at business and or community meetings, and act as a brand ambassador in all professional relationships.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Literature or Communications, Community Development, Non-Profit Management or related field. Masters degree preferred.
- High level of competence with Microsoft Office and Adobe CS Suite.
- One to three years of experience in grants writing.
- Ability to work with diverse groups to achieve fundraising goals.
- Possess a strong track record in fundraising.
- Ability to coordinate a number of varied programs and projects simultaneously.
- Ability to build and sustain relationships with donors.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentations skills.
- High degree of initiative and independent judgement.
- Permanent work authorization in the U.S. is required for this position
